Opportunity DC advances sensible policies that reduce the cost of living and expand access to the essentials people rely on — from housing and schools to food, energy, health care, and transportation.
We want Washington, DC, to be known as a world-class example of shared prosperity and effective local governance, not simply as the capital of the United States. Community well-being, neighborhood safety, and citywide prosperity are connected, and we support practical policies and effective leaders who can advance all three.
- 2021 Opportunity DC is created to serve as an organizing force to help elect pragmatic lawmakers and pass smart policies.
- 2022 ODC helps flip key at-large Council election
- 2023 ODC hires full-time staff and leads public safety advocacy campaign
- 2024 ODC helps pass Secure DC (public safety omnibus bill) and elect a pragmatic Ward 7 councilmember
- 2025 ODC helps pass the RENTAL Act housing omnibus and the redevelopment plan for RFK Stadium
