Our Priorities
Opportunity DC’s Vision
All DC residents should have safe housing they can afford, quality health care, schools that meet every student’s needs, good-paying jobs, and a government that works. Streamlining regulations, modernizing laws, and empowering entrepreneurs will help DC realize its potential as a prosperous and well-run city for everyone.
The Problem

We have created scarcity – in our housing market, and in access to life’s essential goods and services – by increasing what it costs to supply the basics of a livable city. This self-imposed scarcity creates hardship, higher costs, and inequitable outcomes. We will never reduce the cost of living for all DC residents until we address the supply-side challenges that drive up the cost of housing, childcare, and all of life’s essentials.

Our Solution
Prosper DC

We are advancing an agenda for broad-based prosperity – targeting investments and making government work to create more of life’s essentials so that all of us can thrive. More places to live, more jobs, more growth.

Michael Cohen

ANC Commissioner & Small Business Owner, Ward 4

“As a parent with kids in public schools, and a business owner, I want a DC government that is more focused on solving problems and less on ideology. I joined Opportunity DC because they advocate for effective local governance and the quality education our students deserve to prepare them for the future. We need clear-eyed policymaking to ensure our children and their families are supported and safe.”
