Streamlining, modernizing, and removing regulations that no longer make sense will allow DC government to focus more time and resources on building a vibrant city.
Priority One
Reform the legislative process by requiring business impact statements for new Council bills and a real cost-benefit analysis for all new regulations.
Priority Two
Make communities safer by implementing the Secure DC Act, consolidating the two violence intervention programs, and expanding funding for DC’s crime lab.
Additional Priorities
- Improve the Certificate of Need process by enacting legislation to modernize the process through which new institutional health facilities, services, or programs get local government approval.
- Reform the solar credit program by allowing DC energy providers to purchase solar credits from anywhere in the U.S. rather than only in our bureaucratic region.
- Make parking and ticketing less hostile to residents and visitors by relaxing payment requirements in commercial and downtown corridors to spark greater economic activity.
