Project Impact by the Numbers

The new RFK won’t just be a place for touchdowns; it’ll be a place where we all win.

6,500 New Homes

By 2030, one in three will be affordable units, addressing DC’s housing crisis with real solutions.

$2.7B Private Investment

The largest private investment in District history, with only 24% public funding.

14,000 Construction Jobs

Good-paying jobs during construction, supporting local workers and families.

33% Affordable Housing

One in three new homes will be affordable, ensuring diverse community access.

2,000 Permanent Jobs

Long-term employment opportunities from skilled trades to service industries.

180 Acres Transformed

Turning partially blighted federal land into a thriving destination.

The DC Council needs to ACT NOW or we could lose this chance.

If they don’t act, it could be delayed for years or fall apart completely. That means, less housing, fewer jobs and missed opportunities to bring real benefits to DC.

Frequently Asked Questions

Want to know more? We have answers.

Why is the new RFK Stadium such a good deal for families in the area?
This deal will turn 180 acres of partially blighted federal land into thriving neighborhoods that generate permanent tax revenue, create thousands of jobs, and attract the housing our city desperately needs. The Washington DC Government has committed to ensuring that the Fields at RFK will remain open during construction and be preserved in the final development.
Is building a new RFK Stadium a good idea for Washington DC?
The Commanders are investing $2.7 billion or 70% of the project cost. This makes it the largest private investment in the District’s history. Public money will cover only 24% — far less than most other NFL cities — and we know that investment will pay for itself.
How much housing will be included in the plan?
This stadium deal will deliver nearly 6,500 homes by 2030, one in three of which will be affordable units. Without the new businesses that will be attracted by the stadium, builders may never build more houses. This creates real housing with real jobs and real amenities for real D.C. residents.
How many new jobs will the project create?
The stadium deal will bring much-needed jobs to the community. It’s expected to create 14,000 construction jobs and 2,000 permanent jobs, offering opportunities for local workers, from skilled trades to service industries, supporting families and strengthening the community.
Besides a stadium for football fans, what else will be included?
The new RFK will be a year-round operation featuring a state-of-the-art, domed stadium ready to host events from the Super Bowl and World Cup to major concerts. The development preserves the beloved Fields at RFK and includes D.C.’s first indoor SportsPlex with an indoor track and field space for local youth sports.
